Bar Admissions: Admitted to the State bar of California, the District Court for the Northern District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, in 1987. Admitted to the bar for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands in 1989. Admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeal, Fifth Circuit in 2003. Admitted to the State Bar of Hawaii in 2005. Practice Before Coming to Saipan: In California worked with a firm that limited its practice to representing management in labor relations matters. Interned with the National Labor Relations Board, Region 32. Then came to Saipan in 1988 to assist in complex securities and RICO action pending in the District Court. Joined the firm in 1992. Commonwealth Practice: Represented a claimant of the Hillblom estate and later counsel for an heir claimant’s counsel in fee arbitration proceedings arising out of the estate. Extensive representation of employers in the Commonwealth before the NLRB, the EEOC, and in the District Court in many employment related actions. Represented plaintiffs in a wide range of personal injury actions including a large number of claimants in the Phen Fen litigation.
