Mr. Pevec’s practice includes commercial law, civil litigation, business formation, corporate law, maritime law, land transactions, and investor counseling.
Litigation:
Mr. Pevec litigated the claim of the People of Enewetak before the Nuclear Claims Tribunal resulting in an award of over $384 million. This claim involved complex legal and scientific issues. A description of this complex case is found in a review by former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh entitled: The Nuclear Claims Tribunal Of The Republic Of The Marshall Islands: An Independent Examination And Assessment Of Its Decision-Making Processes (2003). Other cases involve land transactions, commercial matters, and civil and maritime claims.
Business Formation:
The Marshall Islands has favorable business formations laws for international parties. Mr. Pevec provides advice and forms corporations or other entities as required for domestic and non-domestic parties.
Maritime Law:
Mr. Pevec assists with vessel registration under the very favorable maritime law of the Marshall Islands.
Other International Clients:
Mr. Pevec assisted the Republic of Kiribati with respect to litigation in the U.S. and also with a charter agreement with a major air carrier. Mr. Pevec also represented a German aircraft manufacturer. Other international clients of Mr. Pevec include parties from Japan and Korea.
